When Matthew Januszek and his father started Escape Fitness in 1998, they did not foresee the size of what they would build.

Januszek learned about the production of Olympic Weights in Eastern Europe, he asked his father’s help to start importing them into the UK.

The company that originally started in the Januszek’s UK flat now stands at $33 million dollars, has distributors in 80 plus countries and serves more than 1,000 fitness centers.

Escape Fitness serves many of the largest brands in the industry including Equinox, Fitness First, Virgin Active, UFC Gyms, Crunch, Nuffield Health, David Lloyd, 1Rebel, 24 Hour Fitness, Marriott, Life Time Fitness, Jatomi and many more.

“I think it’s important find something that you passionate about and I think if you can find something you’re passionate about then you’ve got the ability to be very successful, because you believe in it with everything, you won’t take no for an answer.”
– Matthew Januszek

When it comes to the secret of success, Januszek cites his creative problem solving and his ability to balance that with his ability to lead his organization and set the example that helps his business to grow.

The eight figure growth of Escape Fitness shows that you have to be creative in how you solve problems, and then help others in your organization to connect the dots on those solutions; leading by example is how a company sees exponential growth.

Matthew Januszek sits down with me, Jeremy Ryan Slate, on the latest episode of the Create Your Own Life Show.
