I do not just do it for shock value, but rather to increase my performance, health and brain power. I put coconut oil and butter in my bulletproof coffee, as well as cinnamon and I have some pretty good reasons for it. I was turned onto this by a gentlemen named Dave Asprey, through his Bulletproof Entrepreneur podcast. I stumbled onto this podcast, through the Tim Ferris rabbit hole, via an interview that he did with Tim. I have found many of the entrepreneurs that I follow mainly through my interest in Tim’s do the opposite of what’s acceptable mantra.

In the America diet, we have went a bit crazy about removing fat from our diet. The problem with this, is not only are we hurting our ability to lose body fat, but we are also hurting our brain’s ability to function. The brain needs the right sort of fat to function, and it also depends upon a fatty acid called MCT, which is in coconut oil, so important to the brain.

So, how is this very interesting bulletproof coffee drink created? Well, first, make yourself a cup of black coffee. Next, add one table spoon of coconut oil and one table spoon of salt-free, grass fed, organic butter. Dump this whole mixture into a blender, and just for good measure, sprinkle in some cinnamon in (cinnamon has been shown to speed up the body’s ability to metabolize calories). Blend this all up for 20-30 seconds, and drink it before your breakfast. You’ll find not only will you be less hungry but your brain power will also be super charged; now you are feeding your body properly.
