Meaning-of-successSuccess means a lot of different things to many people. Over the last few months, after starting a podcast, I have had the pleasure of asking many highly successful people what that single word means to them. There’s an interesting correlation in their answers. They have given at least one of two answers; success for them is the ability help others or it means freedom. However, when you boil it all down, it actually all comes down to freedom.

Freedom in business is not in the sense that they do not have to work, thats not the point. But it offers them choices. They have the ability to choose when, where and with who they work. When you look at it that way, that is really the greatest luxury. Many of us are not at that level yet where we have the ability to tell a certain customer that we are not interested in working with them.

So true freedom earned from success does not mean that you do not have to work but rather you have choices. Now, deciding what to do with that time is what really decides its worth. When you really look at it, down at its core, time is all that we really have. Our success, whatever it may be, give us the ability to be present with our families or to help others chase and reach their dreams.

Albert Einstein said it best “Seek not to be a person of success but a person on value.” What will you create or how will you give value, it is in that, which you will truly find success. When you earn the ability to have choice, how will you spend the only true capital that each of us owns, time?
