About Today’s Guest:
Dr. Paul J. Steinhardt is a theoretical physicist whose work contributions range from the discovery of new forms of matter to theories the origin, evolution and future of the universe.  He is the Albert Einstein Professor in Science at Princeton University, where he is on the faculty of both the departments of Physics and of Astrophysical Sciences.

His recent book, The Second Kind of Impossible, describes a completely different area of his research inventing and search for a new form of matter known as a “quasicrystal.”  The story is part beautiful geometry, part breakthrough science, part detective story, part grand adventure, part father-son story, and part space fantasy — and it is all true.
